Dollar to Philippine Peso

The dollar to Philippine peso exchange rate is very depressing right now for we expats living in the Philippines

Dollars To Philippine Peso

I get asked a lot why the dollar is low.  Or I might get asked why the peso is so strong.  I don’t think the peso is stout.  I sense the dollar is weak.

Why is the Dollar to Philippine Peso Exchange Rate Unfavorable to Americans?

The for the weak dollar is and reducing the dollar to Philippine rate of exchange is no great mystery.  The Federal Reserve Bank in the USA is creating money.  They create money when they buy back their own Treasury Bills and that is the current policy.  The Fed is buying back large amounts of T-bills in order to pump money into the economy.  Thus, the supply of the USD is higher than the demand.

The reason the Fed has been doing this a sound one.  It has been done to help spur the economy out of the current downturn.  The US congress and President have previously enlarged the deficit to near historical levels in an effort to spend our way out of the recession.  They have no more money to spend.

For that reason the Fed stepped in and flooded the US economy with loads of dollars.  The recession seems to be over.  People seem to be going back to work and there is a lot of discussion of increased inflation.  So, I think it is time the Fed reverse the policy.

The Dollar to Philippine Exchange Rate is Unlikely to Improve Soon

This policy has weakened the dollar.  It is an expected result of doing so.  It has been good for the US economy but for those of living in the Philippines it has been harsh.

Until the policy is reversed expats living in the Philippines will continue to see a low dollar to Philippine peso exchange rate.  In fact, the effects of this policy will hang on for sometime.

There isn’t a good deal we can do concerning the dollar to Philippine peso exchange rate.  It is a bit like the weather, we can complain about it but that is about it!  Other than wait it out, eventually the bad times will reverse and the dollar to Philippine peso exchange rate will once again benefit those of us living in the Philippines.
